Cameron Sanderson band preview

I got to take some pictures of my friend @c_sanderson’s band the other day. I got to hear them lead worship at Colleyville Heritage High School at a Students Standing Strong event. They were great and the guy behind the lighting did a great job as well! I also got to hear a man share his testimony and his 9/11 survival story… it was intense, but so good to hear it.

Here’s a couple of pictures from the event:

Ahora, la vida tiene razón, pero la lucha es más difícil que nunca.

he cambiado muchísimo desde conocer el Rey de la vida y la muerte. ahora, la vida tiene razón, pero la lucha es más difícil que nunca.

I found the above quote on a friend’s Facebook page. I’m not fluent in Spanish but I was able to get the gist of the statement. I was interested in how he translated it and what it meant to him. Here’s his translation:

I have changed a whole lot since meeting the King of life and death. now, life has reason, but the struggle is harder than ever.

I love it. The beauty in the statement is it’s bold simpleness. It’s a statement that is relevant in my life.

My heart, my life changed the day I became a Christian. And it’s something that I’d love to talk about with you one day. Let me know if you ever get a chance!

the completed Munny

the completed Munny

There are times when I randomly get into super creative moods where I have to go draw, paint, write, etc. So yesterday I bought a Do it Yourself Mini-Munny. Munnys are vinyl toys that either come blank (DIY) or are designed by special artists. You can find Munnys, Dunnys and more at http://www.kidrobot.com. I spent almost all day yesterday and today working on it!

When deciding what to paint on it, I wrote out a list of ideas and settled on one. I humbly decided I would paint myself.

And I love the way it turned out. And all in all, the process of painting it was a lot of fun.

I’ll definitely be making more.

I ran into this comic the other day. It made me curious as to the owner of “poop@yahoo.com” so I sent him the same email as written above.
Now I await a response.

January 2010 Highlights

Well, we’ve made it past another year, another decade. Though it can be great to look back at the past years, it’s fun to see what’s coming up ahead of us. Highlights will be my way of emphasizing things I’m looking forward to each month.

1. Heroes

If you didn’t catch it this past Monday, the continuation of Heroes, Season 4 kicked off with a two episode premiere on the 4th. This highly anticipated continuation comes after their December break. Other things of note, starting on the 11th, Heroes will move to their previous time slot of 9/8c, as NBC’s Chuck is also moving back to their regular time.

This is a close-up of our recently working gas heater. For the past few, cold months, we’ve been using little electrical heaters, carrying them from room to room. Our gas heaters were missing the connections to hook them up to the pipes. Today, the nice people at Jackson Chang’s apartments sent over someone to get the right hook-ups for the gas heaters. So today, I can walk around the house without shivering, without carrying an electrical heater, and without 5 layers of clothing.
This comes at a great time because tomorrow the high will be 28 degrees and the low will be around 11. So, I’m so thankful that we got this fixed!

memento moriFlyleaf - So Close

So Flyleaf’s new album is out now. And while doing my first listen through I totally got stuck on this song and had to repeat it. Check it out!

Here are the lyrics:

Had a dream that we were dead
But we pretended that we still lived
With no regrets we never bled
And we took everything life could give

And came up broken empty handed in the end
In the hearts of the blind, something you’ll never find
Is a vision of light
With the voice of the dead, I’m screaming

I don’t know who I am anymore
Not once in life have I been real
But I never felt this close before
I’ve been looking in your window
I’ve been dressing in your clothes
I’ve been walking dead, watching you
Long enough to know I can’t go on

Had a dream that fire fell from an opening in the sky
Someone warned me of this hell, and I spit in his naive eye
And left him crying for my soul he said would die

In the hearts of the blind something you’ll never find
Is a vision of light
With the voice of the dead I’m screaming

I don’t know who I am anymore
Not once in life have I been real
But I never felt this close before
I’ve been looking in your window
I’ve been dressing in your clothes
I’ve been walking dead, watching you
Long enough to know I can’t go on

In the hearts of the blind, something you’ll never find
Is a vision of light
With the voice of the dead, I’m screaming

I don’t know who I am anymore
Not once in life have I been real
But I never felt this close before
I’ve been looking in your window
I’ve been dressing in your clothes
I’ve been walking dead, watching you
Long enough to know I can’t go on
