By a man’s fingernails, by his coat-sleeve, by his boots, by his trouser-knees, by the calluses of his forefinger, and thumb, by his expression, by his shirt-cuffs, by his movements - by each of these things a man’s calling is plainly revealed. That all united should fail to enlighten the competent enquirer in any case is almost inconceivable.

Sherlock Holmes, 1892

From the intro of this sweet book I’m reading about body language.

Mae West once said: ‘I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. Believe me, rich is better,’ and that’s true, but it doesn’t mean that being rich will make you happy. I’ve met more people who are rich and miserable than I have people who are rich and happy. Cameron Sanderson band preview

I got to take some pictures of my friend @c_sanderson’s band the other day. I got to hear them lead worship at Colleyville Heritage High School at a Students Standing Strong event. They were great and the guy behind the lighting did a great job as well! I also got to hear a man share his testimony and his 9/11 survival story… it was intense, but so good to hear it.

Here’s a couple of pictures from the event:

go for gold

I love the Olympics, particularly the Winter Olympics. When it comes to the winter sports, it’s hard for me to narrow down which sport i would love to be good at… probably snowboarding… but anyway, one thing that i’ve been particularly enjoying with this years olympics is actually on the web. I can’t help but love the olympic themed Google logos. Perhaps, it’s the just the excitement of the games, the paper-like texture, or maybe it’s that these logo are at 100% browser width, but i just like them.

Here are all the ones i’ve seen:

It’s really cool to hear Flyleaf sing David Crowder’s “You are My Joy” and Hillsong’s “From the Inside Out”.

Ahora, la vida tiene razón, pero la lucha es más difícil que nunca.

he cambiado muchísimo desde conocer el Rey de la vida y la muerte. ahora, la vida tiene razón, pero la lucha es más difícil que nunca.

I found the above quote on a friend’s Facebook page. I’m not fluent in Spanish but I was able to get the gist of the statement. I was interested in how he translated it and what it meant to him. Here’s his translation:

I have changed a whole lot since meeting the King of life and death. now, life has reason, but the struggle is harder than ever.

I love it. The beauty in the statement is it’s bold simpleness. It’s a statement that is relevant in my life.

My heart, my life changed the day I became a Christian. And it’s something that I’d love to talk about with you one day. Let me know if you ever get a chance!
